W45 - Payroll - holidays Continuing in our series of questions linked to Payroll, we look at staff holidays. Question: I have heard that the amount of statutory staff holidays are due to go up. Is this true? Answer: Yes. From April 2009, holiday entitlement will go up to 5.6 weeks giving a maximum of 28 days, (which can can include bank holidays). Employers who already give 28 days do not have to give any extra. This is a statutory entitlement, although employers will be able to give extra days as part of their own contractual terms. There is not a statutory entitlement to Bank Holidays. To find out more about our Payroll Services - Speak to Anil on 0208 346 0391. |
